The OG Associate Level course and 100-hour practicum provides teachers with the opportunity to apply the principles of Orton-Gillingham instruction in 1:1 and small group settings. Teachers need to complete the first 30-hour course to be eligible for the practicum. The participant will attend the second thirty-hour course and design and teach 100 lessons over the course of a school year.
The practicum experience requires a minimum commitment of 8 consecutive months during which the participant will receive 10 formal observations followed by a feedback conference.
After successful completion of the course and practicum, students will be prepared to apply for Associate Level certification in the Orton-Gillingham Academy.
5 graduate-credits are available through Fitchburg State University for an additional fee.
